What is in a Name?
Arvella is named after a Burgundy vineyard. We believe top Burgundy wine producers are a great source of inspiration for sustainable long-term investors. In our view, they share many characteristics with superior asset managers we partner with:
- Small, highly specialised, excellent. They focus on producing top quality wine on a small plot of land they know inside out.
- They close early. The best wineries are closed to new clients. Marketing is a distraction.
- Long-term focus. Vines only produce their best grapes decades after planting. Producers invest in new vines for the benefit of the next generation(s).
- Best ESG practices. To preserve the quality of the wine, they adhere to good environmental practices. By doing so, they avoid passing on a depreciated asset to the next generation, a sign of good governance.
